AppleTV+ Unveils its New Sci-Fi Show at Canneseries
SILO, the new sci-fi series from Apple TV+, will open the Cannes International Series Festival on Friday, April 14th 2023.
The CANNESERIES festival, whose programme will be totally revealed on Tuesday, March 28th, has just announced that the Apple TV+ series, "Silo", will open its sixth season. "Silo" was first a literary sensation before being adapted into a series, and the anticipation for this absolutely sensational screening is real. Will it live up to the hype?
The new dystopian series, which will stream on Apple TV+ from May 5th, will be screened on the mythical screen of the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes. Expected to accompany the series and walk the pink carpet is actress and Executive Producer, Rebecca Ferguson, Director and Executive Producer, Morten Tyldum, and Screenwriter and Executive Producer, Graham Yost.
SILO is the story of the last ten thousand people on earth, their mile-deep home protecting them from the toxic and deadly world outside. However, no one knows when or why the silo was built and any who tries to find out faces fatal consequences. Ferguson stars as Juliette, an engineer, who seeks answers about a loved one's murder and tumbles into a mystery that goes far deeper than she could have ever imagined, leading her to discover that if the lies don't kill you, the truth will.
Apple TV+ unveiled the first impressive images of the series three days ago, naming the Théâtre Lumière in Cannes as the setting for this premiere, which will perfectly highlight the oppressive atmosphere of SILO. The Artistic Director of CANNESERIES, Albin Lewi, said of the screening:
"I can't wait for the festival audience to discover this series about the absolute necessity of survival in a post-apocalyptic world. Behind the absolutely beautiful end-of-the-world images lies a reflection on resistance and class struggle. I am very proud to present SILO which, both visually and intellectually, raises the series to the highest level.”
